What’s actually in Las Vegas tap water.
About 90% of the valley’s water comes from Lake Mead via the Colorado River — hard and high in dissolved solids. Across the homes we’ve installed in, the numbers come back in roughly the same range:
- Hardness: ~16 grains per gallon / ~278 ppm (EPA calls 7+ “very hard”)
- TDS: 600-700 ppm from Colorado River mineral load
- Chlorine + chloramines from municipal treatment
- That flat, slightly chemical treated-water taste
